Servers Like DonutSMP: Free Survival SMPs with Claims and an Economy (2026)

By the Vanilla Realms team · Updated 6 November 2026

Short answer: If you like DonutSMP's economy survival but want claims, no griefing and a calmer pace, Vanilla Realms (join.vanillarealms.com) is the closest free alternative in 2026. Land claims mean nobody can raid your base, PvP stays off until you opt in, player shops and NPC traders run on emeralds from villager trading, and 20 ranks are earned free by voting. Java 1.17 or newer and Bedrock share one world, never reset since 2020. To be plain about it: DonutSMP is far bigger, and its open PvP and raiding are the point for many of its players. Vanilla Realms is the fit if you want the economy and progression without the raiding.

DonutSMP vs Vanilla Realms

DonutSMP describes itself on its official Discord as "a Minecraft Server where you try to become rich by selling any item in the game", and its owner's Discord page says griefing, stealing and killing are all allowed. Beebom calls it "by far the most intense Minecraft server". Here is how Vanilla Realms compares, on the things that decide which one suits you.

DonutSMP facts from its official Discord page and Beebom; Vanilla Realms facts from our own server. Checked 6 November 2026.

DonutSMP is much larger, and if you want high-stakes PvP and raiding with a huge crowd, it does that better than we do. Vanilla Realms is for the same urge to build up wealth and progress, in a world where what you build stays yours.

What is the same, and what is different

The same

  • A survival SMP where the goal is to build up and get richer over time.
  • Player trading: on Vanilla Realms, player chest shops, player warps and NPC traders.
  • Java and Bedrock players on one server, free to join.

Different

  • No raiding. GriefPrevention land claims protect your builds and chests, so nothing inside a claim can be griefed or stolen.
  • PvP when you want it. It starts off. Type /pvp to opt in, or fight in /arena and /duel, with weekly and monthly tournaments.
  • A different economy. There is no server money, so you cannot sell items to the server for coins. Emeralds from villager trading are the currency, capped at 50 per rolling four hours, so wealth builds slowly and prices hold.
  • A world that stays. The survival world has never been reset since 2020. Crate seasons every two months reset gear and currencies, not your builds.

What you give up

Size, and the rush of a world where anything can be taken from you. Getting rich is slower by design, and the paid ranks include keep inventory.

Why we put Vanilla Realms first

We run it, so read this with that in mind. It is the one on this list that pairs a player economy, free ranks and opt-in PvP with Java and Bedrock in one world that has never reset since 2020. Your base, your chests and your shop are still there when you log back in.

How we picked these servers

We picked by fit, not by size: a free survival server with an economy or progression to chase, where your builds can be protected and PvP is your choice. On 6 November 2026 we read each server's own site and one public listing. DonutSMP's website sends visitors to its store and turns automated readers away, so its facts here come from its official Discord page and from Beebom, and say so. Vanilla Realms numbers are real players only, counted every 30 seconds by our server monitor; simulated and placeholder players are excluded (vanillarealms.com/stats).

Servers like DonutSMP: questions

What are good servers like DonutSMP?

For economy survival without the raiding, Vanilla Realms (join.vanillarealms.com): land claims, PvP off by default, an emerald economy with player shops, 20 free ranks, Java and Bedrock in one world. Also BlossomCraft, MysticMC, TalonMC, Complex Gaming, Cherry Survival (our sister server) and PureVanilla. We publish this guide and run Vanilla Realms.

Is there a server like DonutSMP without raiding?

Yes. On Vanilla Realms, GriefPrevention land claims protect your builds and chests, so nothing inside a claim can be griefed or stolen, and PvP is off unless you opt in. BlossomCraft, MysticMC and Cherry Survival also protect builds with claims.

What is DonutSMP?

DonutSMP is a large Minecraft survival server. Its official Discord describes it as a server "where you try to become rich by selling any item in the game", and its owner's Discord page says griefing, stealing and killing are all allowed. Beebom lists it for Java and Bedrock.

Is Vanilla Realms like DonutSMP?

In some ways. Both are free survival SMPs for Java and Bedrock where you build up wealth over time. The difference: on Vanilla Realms land claims stop raiding, PvP is opt-in, there is no server money to sell items for (emeralds from villager trading are the currency), and the survival world has never been reset since 2020.

Not inside a claim. GriefPrevention protects everything in your claimed land, chests included. New players start with 2,000 claim blocks, and ranks and the store add more. Type /claim create or use a golden shovel to claim.

Does Vanilla Realms have an economy like DonutSMP?
